So I’ve had to give up on Gravity’s Rainbow for the second time. I just keep getting lost in it, but i will pick it up again in the future. In the meantime i just finished Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game and have been diligently reading Midnight’s Children along with Memories, Dreams, Reflections. I picked up a copy of Paul of Dune, which is apparently the direct sequel to Dune, albeit part of the wave of prequels/supplements authored by Frank Herbert’s son and his colleague. I also found V. in a used book store. I still need to get to Human, All too Human and The Gay Science as well as finish Thus Spoke Zarathustra. I want to pick up Marcus Arelius’ Meditations due to my interest in the Stoics. Love Pessoa’s Book of Disquietude but read it sparingly because it reminds me too much of myself and my own writing, but i wont flatter myself by saying mine is as good. Still chiseling at short stories by Vladimir Nabokov and Borges.
Drawings/paintings coming slowly, but more frequently than before. Writing every day. Sifting for ideas for sci-fi short stories, possible novella. Vignettes and shorts of the typical sort (for me) all the time. You’ve seen a few up here. Poems not as much, but still coming.
Looking at possibility of a groundskeeping job here while in school for physical therapy assistance. Need to get pesticide certification, stand to receive a salary of 28,000 a year for spreading mulch, cutting grass, and riding in a golf cart. Thats good money to save, and who doesn’t love golf carts? Going to get a car and a camera.
Have been good about stopthinking on things i cannot control. Double plus ungood thoughts quarantined for examination and dissection, not emotional arousal and crippling ecstasy/depression.
